Advises buyers and sellers on homes and acreages across Central Nebraska, based in Gothenburg.

Koby Rickertsen is a Nebraska real estate industry leader, broker, and educator with roots in the communities he serves. He helps people make property decisions with clear information and a practical plan. Whether the question is what a home may be worth, how to prepare for a sale, or whether an acreage fits the way someone wants to live, he starts by listening.

Based in Gothenburg, Koby is the designated broker and CEO of Homes by Ironhorse and the founding partner, CEO, and managing broker of Ironhorse Land Company. His residential work is rooted in Nebraska. Through Ironhorse Land Company, he serves farm, ranch, recreational, development, and investment land clients across multiple states.

Koby grew up on his family’s farm in Nebraska’s Lincoln and Dawson Counties. His service in the U.S. Navy Submarine Force reinforced the discipline, accountability, and preparation that still shape his work. He later built, led, and sold businesses, including RE/MAX Home, Farm & Ranch, before establishing Ironhorse Land Company.

His work on behalf of the industry starts close to home. Koby serves as President-Elect of the REALTORS® of Greater Mid-Nebraska and on the Nebraska REALTORS® Association’s Governmental Affairs Committee, where he will serve as Vice Chair in 2027. He also serves on the state association’s NAR Councils Subcommittee, supporting professional education and specialty credentials.

An Accredited Land Consultant, Koby serves on the national Board of Directors of the REALTORS® Land Institute and chairs its 2026 Future Leaders Committee. He also serves on the National Association of REALTORS® Land Use, Property Rights and Environment Committee. His 2027 appointments include NAR’s Federal Financing & Housing Policy Committee and the Nebraska REALTORS® Association’s Participation & Membership Value Committee.

As a LANDU instructor, he teaches Agricultural Land Brokerage & Marketing and Land 101: Fundamentals of Land Brokerage. He brings the work of an active broker into the classroom, helping other professionals prepare thoroughly, exercise sound judgment, and represent their clients well.

Koby also hosts the American Land Seller Podcast and contributes to RLI’s industry publications. His conversations with brokers, investors, appraisers, attorneys, and other specialists make complicated property questions easier to understand and use in practice.

Under his leadership, Ironhorse Land Company was included in The Land Report’s 2026 America’s Best Brokerages for the Great Plains region. His community service includes serving as Rotary District 5630 Governor in 2014–2015.

Koby is also a founding member of Live Out Loud and serves on its organizing committee. Held each August in Gothenburg, Nebraska, the annual Christian concert draws more than 10,000 attendees. He works with contracts for the event’s artists and speakers.

Across those roles, his priorities stay consistent: understand the property, prepare carefully, develop good people, and follow through. For clients, that means steady guidance and respect for the plans, livelihoods, and people behind the decision.
